Saint Patrick's Day is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick, one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on March 17th. Traditionally a religious holiday, now celebrated by non-Christians and Christians alike, St. Patrick's Day has become a widely known celebration with friends and family enjoying Irish cuisine, wearing green and orange, attending parades, and of course drinking Irish authentic beers!
Leading up to St. Patrick’s Day many breweries are busy at work to create a beer suitable (and usually Irish-inspired) for the big day. Check out this YouTube video on the chemistry of beer, presented by Reactions.

It is important to measure pH and temperature during these chemical processes. In an article published by Craft Brewing Business, our Applications engineers discuss the importance of enzymes throughout the brewing process, and that pH and temperature have an impact on how enzymes react with each other.
A good tool to use when measuring your brew’s pH is a pH meter. Hanna offers a wide range of instrumentation from benchtop to portable meters at an affordable price point.
